Michelle Curtis-Velasco,DVM
was born in Ft. Myers and raised in Hollywood, Florida. She spent her childhood helping care for exotic zoo animals from her father's business. This lifelong interest in animal care led to a career in veterinary medicine. She graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Zoology and proceeded to veterinary school at Auburn University. While she was there, she met her husband Dr. Ed Velasco. She has over 20 years experience in small animal and avian medicine. Dr. Curtis is one of only 70 veterinarians in North America certified in avian practice by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. She often travels to lecture on recent avian topics. Her husband is also owner of All Animal Clinic in Orange Park, Florida. She and her family live with 3 horses, 3 dogs, 3 cats, and 6 birds.
Alanna Lowry, DVM
was born and raised in Brevard County, Florida. Her interest in animals started early in life when she was given her first cat as a Christmas gift. After earning a B.S. in Zoology from the University of Central Florida, she attended veterinary school at the University of Florida. She joined the Fleming Island staff in 2000. She and her husband currently share their home with two dogs, two cats and two reptiles. Dr. Lowry has a special interest in animal behavior and also enjoys training and showing her own dogs. She is currently showing her Ibizan Hound, Noah, in agility trials and also competes in obedience.
Teresa Manucy, DVM
is a Florida native, having lived in Orange Park, Florida most of her life. Always an animal lover, she enjoyed a variety of pets which developed into her career choice. Her college education began at Florida Community in Jacksonville. During this time, she began working as a technician and receptionist at All Animal Clinic and Fleming Island Pet Clinic. Her undergraduate and graduate studies were completed at the University of Florida. After veterinary school, she traveled to Los Angeles, California for an internship in small animal medicine and surgery. After three years of general practice on the west coast, she moved back to Florida. She joined our staff in 1999 and sees small mammals, birds and other exotics. She and her husband share their home with a border collie mix, two domestic short-haired cats, and two birds (a Nanday conure and a lovebird).
