Have we seen your cat lately?
Here at the Fleming Island Pet Clinic, we want your cat's visit to be as pleasant as possible. While most of you can't claim your cat loves to come to the vet, we will try to minimize their stress level to make the visit as pleasant as possible. We have recently remodeled one of our exam rooms and included features such as a kitty hiding place and Feliway diffuser (a cat pheromone that helps relieve stress). Our staff has been trained to implement the lowest stress handling techniques possible for your kitty. We would love to see your kitty here in our clinic!

Just because your cat appears healthy doesn't mean problems aren't there! Cats are masters at hiding their illnesses until the problem is very serious. That is why a yearly physical exam is so important. A comprehensive physical exam will include examination of the eyes, ears, teeth and gums, skin and hair coat, heart, lungs, muscles and bones, lymph nodes, general body condition and weight and palpation of the abdominal organs.
Florida has one of the highest percentages of heartworm positive cats and 25% of infections are in cats described by their owners as "indoor only" cats. Cats contract heartworms through the bite of an infected mosquito, and there is currently no effective and safe treatment to eliminate existing heartworm infections. The good news is that heartworms are easy to prevent with safe and effective medications. We recommend heartworm preventative for every cat.
Your pets health is important to us. We would love to see your kitty here in our clinic for their yearly exam and to discuss the ways we can help you keep your pet healthy.
